Busy spring
Welcome to the Mythical Type newsletter, where I share projects I’m working on, things I’ve been watching, and sources of inspiration.
Hi there, I hope you’re doing well. April was a busy month for me at work, and that didn’t leave much time or effort for art projects. I have just a couple updates for you.
“Children of Immigrants” is now a digital zine
Physical copies of “Children of Immigrants” have sold out, but now it’s available as a digital zine! Head over to my Ko-fi page to download the zine PDF for free (or pay what you want).
The zine includes 28 pages of art and writing about immigrant experiences. Thirteen people contributed stories, poetry, photography, illustrations, and collages.
Note: The PDF version is meant to be read on a screen. The PDF is not formatted for printing and folding a paper copy.
Inspiration
Check out the designs on these Japanese train tickets (via Warren Ellis).
If, like me, you have a container of paper scraps that you don’t know what to do with, here’s a video that might help.
What I’ve been watching
Station Eleven (Netflix) - Limited series with 10 episodes. I have a couple episodes left to watch. Overall I like it, but there’s a lot of jumping back and forth in time and switching between different sets of characters, which I don’t care for.
Thank you for reading!
As always, thank you for following this newsletter and supporting my work.
