Zine fest recap, mostly
Welcome to the Mythical Type newsletter, where I share projects I’m working on, things I’ve been reading, and sources of inspiration.
Lancaster Zine Fest recap
I had an incredible experience at Lancaster Zine Fest! I met so many amazing people and had so much fun.
Here’s a photo of me at my table.
About 50 people were tabling at zine fest. Lots of creativity in one space! I traded zines with a few people and purchased zines and art from a handful of artists. Check out photos of my haul on Instagram:
I’m looking forward to more zine fests in the future!
Zany Brainy zine
In last month’s newsletter, I included a sneak peek of a zine about Zany Brainy. Now the zine is finished and available on Etsy.
A digital version is available on itchi.io on a pay-what-you-want model (which means you can download it for free, if you want).
Thanks for reading my newsletter! If you haven’t subscribed yet, you can sign up to have new posts delivered straight to your inbox.
Zine tutorials
Thanks to everyone who voted in last month’s poll about zine tutorials. Having both video and written tutorials was the winning option. I don’t have a timeline in mind for when I’ll make tutorials, but they’re definitely on my list.
A new story to read
Years and years ago, I came across a blog called Sliced Bread 2. It was a superhero novel written in blog format. I loved, loved it.
The author started a new story. This time it’s fantasy, written as letters to a friend. It’s called Palace Guard. I’ve been enjoying it so far. Maybe you will too. :)
Thank you for reading!
As always, thank you for following this newsletter and supporting my work.
If you want to see more from me, you can follow me on Instagram, check out my blog, or browse my zines on Etsy.
Until next time!
